The Early Days of Playful Expression
A Blossoming Journey
I was always drawn to color, nature, and playfulness—whether it was adorning myself with necklaces or picking flowers to wear in my hair. In this moment, with marigolds in bloom around me, I felt an innate joy in expressing myself freely, something I still carry with me today. This is where my personal style journey began, rooted in the simplicity of childhood wonder and the natural world.
Today, I embody this spirit—encouraging women to reconnect with that carefree, authentic version of themselves. Through my work, I aim to create looks that remind you of the playful, confident girl you once were, and the empowered woman you are today.
The First Steps
Crafting a Dream
After graduating with my degree in fashion, I was filled with excitement and determination to take my designs into the world. I founded my business in 2013 and named it Moon Flower Child, which would become a space to sell my creations—clothing, jewelry, and handmade art—at festivals, markets, pop ups and stocklists. It was an exhilarating time to see my vision come together in such a tangible way.
Starting my own business meant freedom and endless possibilities. These markets were more than just an opportunity to sell; they were a space to share my creativity, connect with like-minded souls, and inspire others to embrace their own uniqueness. The journey of Moon Flower Child began with these humble setups, driven by a passion for self-expression and empowering women through style.
A Wandering Boutique & life on the Road
Meraki
The next chapter of Moon Flower Child took a bold turn when I bought a short school bus and transformed it into the Meraki Wandering Boutique. I poured my heart into renovating the entire interior, creating a mobile shop that embodied the bohemian spirit of my designs. This bus became a part of my defining identity offering freedom, creativity, and adventure, where I traveled up and down the East Coast vending at festivals, local pop-up shops, and events.
It was thrilling to see people step into the bus and experience the world I’d created—a space filled with handmade clothing, jewelry, and art that reflected my passion for empowering women to express their authentic selves. Traveling with Meraki gave me the opportunity to connect with an incredible community of free spirits and creatives, each interaction reinforcing the purpose behind Moon Flower Child.
Motherhood and the Art of Metalsmithing
Stepping into a new era
Becoming a mother was a profound shift in my life, one that brought new depth to my creativity and my business. As I nurtured new life, I also began my journey into metalsmithing, creating one-of-a-kind silver adornments that became a fresh form of self-expression. This craft allowed me to focus on making timeless pieces, each one infused with intention and care.
With this new chapter, I shifted my business model toward online selling, offering these unique handmade pieces to a broader audience. Balancing motherhood and artistry wasn't always easy, but it gave me a renewed sense of purpose. I wanted to create pieces that told a story—of strength, transformation, and empowerment—mirroring my own journey as a mother and artist.
Moon Flower Child evolved once again, as I developed an art for metalsmithing, and connecting with women all over the world who, like me, are constantly evolving and rediscovering their true selves.
The Birth of Herbal Perfumes
Re-centering Through Nature
Amidst the hustle of running a business and motherhood, I found myself losing touch with the grounded, free-spirited essence of who I was. I needed something to bring me back to center, a ritual that would help me reconnect with my true self. That’s when I turned to nature once again, discovering the power of herbal perfumes, aromatherapy and self care.
Creating these natural scents became an integral part of my self-love practice. I began crafting blends that harnessed the healing energies of plants, allowing me to match my mood or elevate my style with a scent that resonated with my soul. These perfumes became more than just a fragrance—they were a daily ritual, a moment of calm, and a way to bring intention into my day.
Through this process, I found a deeper connection with myself, and now share these sacred rituals with other women, helping them find beauty and empowerment in their own personal scent journeys.
Empowerment Through Personal Style
More than just clothing
Today, my personal style is more than just clothing—it’s a form of artistic expression, a way to honor who I am and what I love most. Every piece I wear tells a story, whether it’s woven with memories from my journeys past or inspired by the natural world that continues to ground me.
My style is a reminder of my creative freedom, an expression of self-love, and a way to empower myself every day. After almost a decade of running Moon Flower Child, I feel that I have outgrown the name, the brand, thus the business has taken a big shift to be renamed - Juliana Yasmine. Through today's mission, I aim to help others feel this same sense of empowerment, reminding them of their own strength and unique beauty. It’s about embracing who you are and celebrating that through every look, every adornment, every moment.
